Established in 1835, we are the only independent DIY store in the centre of Norwich.
Thorns is a family owned department store and we believe we can offer you better service than a chain store because we are not limited by national buying policies. We aim to provide an honest, friendly and reliable service at prices that you will consider fair and competitive. We aim to cater for the learned and learning, the creative and the caring, the maintaining and the maintained. There are thousands of items held in stock within the 8 different departments in our store, ranging from the latest power tools to a single tap washer. Being independent, we are unlimited in our choice of suppliers and can find you almost anything you want without delay.
We carry the minimum pre-packaged lines, so you can buy as many single items as you want without paying for the excess. If you haven't used Thorns before, you may be surprised by the level of knowledge and the standard of service still to be found in a retail outlet.
